She was predeceased by: her parents, Frances Bittle and Junie Glynn Bittle of Chesapeake, VA; her son Curtis Barden of Norfolk, VA; and her brother Gary Bittle (Jackie) of Norfolk, VA.. She is survived by: her nieces, Cindy Bittle of Corolla, NC and Wendy Stanley (Robert); her daughter Kate; her grandson Jeremy Courtney (Diana); her great grandchildren, Ava, Lily and Asher of Simpsonville, SC; her daughter-in-law Vicki Barden; her brother Glynn Bittle; her sibling's children, Glynn Bittle, Jr. and Susan Patel; and her cousins, Ann and Walter Gray.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Churchland Baptist Church.
