He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Eckhardt and Irene Eckhardt; and his daughter Virginia Ujiiye. He is survived by: his wife Doris; his sons, Mark Eckhardt (Sandra) and Robert Diaz (Vicki); his son-in-law Bill Ujiiye; his sister Frances Wirtanen (Dalton); his grandchildren, Jason Bryant, Chrystal Pelzel, Maria-Elena Diaz, Robbie Diaz, Amber Ray, Kevin Ray and Sarah Ray; and his great grandchildren, Aidan, Gibson, Hannah, Jakob, Dallen, Jaxson and Allora.
