It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melva J. Johnson of Chesapeake, Virginia, who passed away on August 10, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Felton White and Madgie White; and her husband William W. Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Becky Szymanski (Larry), David Johnson, Donald Johnson and Mark Johnson (Jennie). She is also survived by six grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and extended family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fairview Heights Baptist Church, 4704 Deep Creek Blvd. Portsmouth, VA 23702.
