We are sad to announce that on September 12, 2021, at the age of 85, Mildred Davenport Strickland of Chesapeake, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Callie Hufton Davenport and Hubert Leroy Davenport, Sr.; her sons, James V. Strickland, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Gregory V. Strickland of Louisa, VA and Christopher V. Strickland of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren, Faith, Meredith, Callie, Mary Allen, Alex, Corey and Abbey; her great grandchildren, Cole, Bay, Carter, Canon and Christian; her brother Ted Davenport of Raleigh, NC.; and her child Love.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Suffolk Christian Church, earmarked for the Young at Heart group.
