He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Cleveland and Lavinia Mann Smith; his wife Wendy Alana Smith; and his siblings, Curtis "Buddy", Syble, Richard, Emmett Smith and Rita Midgett.
He is survived by: his sons, Greg Smith (Pam) of Virginia Beach, Jeffrey Smith (Karen) of Virginia Beach and Brandon Swart (Kayla) of Fort Stewart, GA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
