He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wise Ayres and Melba Rice Ayres; and his wife Carolyn Harris Ayres. He is survived by: his children, John Wise Ayres, III and Robyn Ayres Barber; his grandson Curtis Ayres Barber; and his son Tray.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bliley's Funeral Home (6900 Hull St Rd, Richmond, VA 23224). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Matthias Episcopal Church (11300 W Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113).
