He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sams and Ursley Sams; his daughter Rhonda Cherry; and his siblings, Dorothy Parker, Kathleen Radford, Reva Raynor, Climmett Sams and John Sams.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Sams; his son Greg Sams (Heidi); his grandchildren, Taylor, Ashlee, Kortni and Sean Cherry; and his siblings, Sue Keith, Bobby Sams, Jimmy Sams, Stevie Sams and Gwen Jackson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
