With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Ann (John) Whitaker of Christiansburg, Virginia, born in Weaubleau, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 26, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Carol Ann farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Carol Ann is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Calvin Whitaker (Cal). She is survived by: her children, Michelle Brauns (Al) of Blacksburg and Dean Whitaker (Shelly) of Boones Mill; her grandsons, Jason (Kim), Adam Brauns, Graham and Evan Whitaker; and her great grandchildren, Allison and Alaina Brauns. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
