She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethel B. Kaufman Oast and George W. Oast, MD; her sister Ethel Oast Speers of Chesapeake; and her husband Charles E. Gaskins, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Charles E. Gaskins III (Donna), Robert O. Gaskins (Terri) of Chesapeake and Virginia L. Gaskins Videll (Jim) of Virginia Beach; and her grandchildren, Christie Gaskins Farrell, Peter, Katie L. Gaskins of Richmond, Stephanie Gaskins, Philip Gaskins, Allie of Chesapeake, Kyle Videll and Logan Videll of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
