He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Oscar and Mary Oscar (McNeal); his wife Joyce Corbin Oscar; and his siblings, Marilyn Campbell, Jean Berry and Williard Oscar (Julie).
He is survived by: his children, Robert L. Oscar, Sr., Sandra Oscar-Sprouse and William Oscar; his daughter-in-law Tracy Oscar of Waynesboro; his daughter Nina Herron of Staunton; his grandchildren, Kristi Cortez, Jennifer Hart of Maryland, Lisa Worley (Nathan) of Staunton, Cassandra, Allison Oscar of Craigsville, Robbie Oscar (Cherrie) of Staunton, Barry "BJ" Fridley, Jr. (Jamie) of Craigsville and Jakeb "Jake" Fridley (Chloe) of Greenville; his great grandchildren, Diana, Lucas, Daphne, Drew, Savanna, Tanner, Owen, Rayne, Willow, Brandon, Colby, Sebestian, Nathan, Allison "Alli", Oaklynn, Briana, Oliver and Finley; his brother Ira Oscar (Dolly) of Michigan; and his brother-in-law David Berry of Augusta Springs. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bear Funeral Home (14 Green Hill Ln, Churchville, VA 24421). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Craigsville Southern Baptist Church (48 Railroad Ave, Craigsville, VA 24430).
