He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Ralph and Annie Lucille Lucas Slayton; and his siblings, Karen Whitmer and Ronnie Slayton. He is survived by: his wife Ellen "Minnie" Broughman Slayton of Selma; his son Scott Slayton (Joy); his nephew Bobby Hippert (Terrie) of Selma; and his sisters, Linda Caldwell (Pat) of Covington and Susan Campbell (Butch) of Clifton Forge. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
