She was predeceased by: her parents, Beulah Shively Hancock and Zacharish Hancock; her husband Marshall L. Merchant; her children, Ronnie "Pee Wee" Merchant and Patricia "Pat" Merchant; her siblings, Lillian Hancock, Verlie Adkerson, Vera Cox, Myrtle Graham, Claudie "Tiny" Hancock, Jesse Hancock and James "Sonny" Hancock; and her grandson Victor Merchant.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra M. Roberts (J. B.) of Danville, VA; her grandsons, Barry Roberts, Brian Roberts and Brian Merchant; her great grandchildren, Barry Jr., Brittney, Taylor, Tyler, Austin and Ashlyn; and her sibling's children, Judy, Margaret, Claudia and Eddie Hancock. She is also survived by 7 great-great grandchildren.
