She was predeceased by: her parents, John Cephas Dodson and Ruby Walton Dodson; and her siblings, Doris Dodson Finch, John C. Dodson and Herman Dodson.
She is survived by: her husband Arlett Edwards; her children, Pat Edwards Astin of Rocky Mount, NC, Art Edwards (Deborah) of Kernersville, NC and Joe Edwards (LaVerne) of Ringgold, VA; her grandchildren, Rainey A. Parks (Matt) of Alexandria, VA, Rebecca Morganelli (Danny) of Raleigh, NC, Robyn A. Sarrat (Peter) of Potomac, MD, Lindsay E. Quick (Jamie) of Graham, NC, David J. Edwards (Elizabeth) of Richmond, VA and Kevin M. Edwards (Meghan) of Lexington, VA; her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Nicholas Morganelli, Andy, Lauren, Abby Sarrat, Pearl Quick, Bradley Edwards, Jack and Henry McGowan; her brother T. Neal Dodson (Linda); her uncle Walker Dodson; and her sister-in-law Billie Edwards Calvert. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
