She was predeceased by: her son Phillip Dale Pettus; her siblings, James Wilkerson, William Wilkerson, Charles Wilkerson, Eunice Bridges, Elizabeth Toombs and Rose Sturgeon; and her parents, Thomas Wilkerson and Lola Gay Wilkerson.

She is survived by: her husband Walter Harold Pettus; her daughter Jamie Lisa Gay Pettus of Portland; her siblings, Jane Harring of Venice and George Wilkerson of Mechanicsville; and her pet Precious.
