He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Dawkins and Lela Holman Dawkins; his wife Lora Palmer Dawkins; his siblings, Samuel Dawkins and Violet Dawkins; and his aunt Dossie Mae "Annie" Davis.
He is survived by: his daughter Anitra Taylor (Cedric) of Riverdale, GA; his grandchildren, Jared Brown and Brytnee Brown of Jonesboro, GA; his great grandchild Amir Brown; and his siblings, Sarah Ann Dawkins of Tampa, FL and John Dawkins Sr. (Luwatha) of Evington, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
