She was predeceased by : her parents, Asegedech Bayou of Harrar and Simeneh Dinke of Holeta, Ethiopia.; and her granddaughter Tamika Huston. She is survived by : her husband Gerald Anthony Funk; her children, Ethiopian, Gabriella Simenehe (Ababu), Mark Anthony Funk, Melanie Ann Friedman (Josh), Matthew Thomas Payne-Funk, Holly Simenehe Funk, Megan Mary Brisbane (Kenny), Prize Balcha Funk (Marnelle) and Rebkah Mariam Howard (Desmond); and her siblings, Hanna Simeneh, Zeditu Simeneh, Sileshi Simeneh, Lidetu Simeneh, Fikrete Simeneh, Berhanu Simeneh, Mesfin Simeneh, Sufanite Simeneh, Yilma Simeneh, Menbere Simeneh, Tenagne Simeneh and Hirut Simeneh. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be limited to immediate family and a maximum of 25 people.
