He was predeceased by : his parents, Theodore Roosevelt Turner, Sr. and Bertha Jones Turner; his wife Elizabeth Arnold Turner; and his sons, Danny and Lou Turner.

He is survived by : his grandson Daniel Waller; his children, Larry "Bull" Turner of Fort Chiswell, Ted Turner, III (Donna), Randy Turner (Kathy), Jamie Turner (Cyndi), Martha Sawyers of Fort Chiswell, Deborah Woodyard (Jim) and Lynn Sonner (Jimmy); and his caregiver Jo Clyburn. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Community Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
