She was predeceased by: her parents, James Simpson and Elsie Darden Simpson; and her brothers, Leroy and Bill Simpson. She is survived by: her husband William Randolph "Bill" Edwards; her children, Lynn E. Phillips (Barry) of Pendleton, NC, Tony R. Edwards (Michelle) of Black Creek and Billy Edwards of Sunbeam; her siblings, Joyce McCauley (Bill) of Maryland, Catherine Knowlton (Roland) of Searsport, ME, Kelly Simpson (Darlene) of Suffolk, John Simpson of Marshall, VA, Robert Simpson (Brenda) of Warrenton, VA and Earl Simpson of Searsport, ME; her grandchildren, Madison Spivey (Eugene), Christopher Edwards, Courtney Edwards, Dawn Smith and Blake Edwards; her great grandchildren, Emma, Ellis, Chloe and Paislee; and her sister-in-law Sue Simpson of Marshall, VA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
