It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sidney McWhirt of Fredericksburg, Virginia, who passed away on July 4, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Willard McWhirt and Sarah Belle Groves McWhirt of Stafford; his wife Irene Gallahan McWhirt; his children, Rannie Burgess, Ralph Burgess, Mary Thompson and Delmar Burgess; and his siblings, Willard McWhirt, William McWhirt, Gracie Hazel McWhirt, Frank McWhirt, Edna McWhirt and Everett McWhirt.

He is survived by : his daughters, Ruthann McWhirt Copeland (Tim), Lisa McWhirt Dickinson (Richard) of Stafford and Shirley Burgess Marquis (Alan). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
