She was predeceased by: her parents, Escar Moaten Phillips and Annie Simpkins Phillips; her former husband Verner Lee Simpson; her son Larry; her grandson Michael; and her siblings, Alfred Lee, William, James A., Alvin J. Clemon C, Bennie M., Eugene D. Phillips and Cleo Geneva Phillips.
She is survived by: her sons, Glenn Simpson, Allen Simpson, Daniel Simpson, Ray Simpson and Mark Simpson; and her sister Evelyn McClellan. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
