He was predeceased by: his parents, Brian Nichols and Mary Edith Nichols Fauver; his former wife Mildred Louise Mills Nichols; and his siblings, Johnny Nichols, Elizabeth Nichols Camper, Irene Nichols Adaire and Georgia Royston Todd.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn W. Nichols; his daughter Gloria N. Clark; his stepsons, Michael Compton Collins and Joseph Logan Collins; and his stepgrandchildren, Stewart Elizabeth Collins, Logan Alexander Collins, Rebecca Tamalyn Collins and David Logan Collins. He is also survived by three step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
