He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Whitaker and Gracie Whitaker. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Whitaker; his son Bill "Whit"; his daughter-in-law Lois Whitaker of Front Royal; his daughter Zella; his son-in-law Mark Dillon of Wytheville; and his grandchildren, Abigael Whitaker of Seattle, Graham Dillon of Fairfax and Maxwell Dillon of Blacksburg. He is also survived by partners as well as many favorite cousins, nieces, and nephews.
