She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert McVey and Marie McVey; her husband Dewey Thomas; and her brothers, Chesil McVey, Maurice McVey and Merle McVey.

She is survived by : her daughters, Retha Jean Smith (Randy Thomas) of Abingdon, VA and Lisa Ann Little (Kerry) of Glade Spring, VA; her siblings, Dixie Lee Jolly (Don) of Abingdon, VA and Dean McVey of Bristol, TN; and her sister-in-law Ruby McVey of Bristol, VA.
