He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Lester and Viola Ratliff Lester; and his siblings, Bea Mason, Ronald Lester of Lucille Kelly, J. G, Martha Lester, Fred M. Lester and Agnes Lester.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Palmer Lester; and his sisters, June Lester of Glade Spring and Ann Lester of Glade Spring. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
