He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bengel and Myrtle Bengel; and his nephew Mark Tinsley. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hatley Bengel; his children, Terri Bethel (Alvin), Johnny Bengel (Sara), Scott Bengel (Cris), Kelly Bengel (Bruce), Patty Whitten (Glynn) and Kenny Bengel (Susan); his brother Tommy Bengel (Sharyn); his nephew Tommy (Jennifer Bengel); his sister-in-law June Tinsley; his nieces, Karen Frank and Kerri Vipperman; his grandchildren, Harrison, Emma Whitten, Chandler Farmer (Brandon), Landon Bethel, Lily, Jack Bengel and Daniel Vaughan; and his great grandchild Tripp Layne Farmer. He is also survived by his family – he was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bennett Funeral Home (11020 W Broad St, Glen Allen, VA 23060).
