It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virginia Mahanes Herring (Gordonsville, Virginia), born in Louisa, Virginia, who passed away on November 16, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Mahanes and Viola Gibson Mahanes; her husband Richard L. Herring; and her siblings, Ralph Mahanes, Ray Mahanes, Catherine McClary and Frances Martin.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Herring Wright (Robert T. Wright, Sr.) of Orange; her sisters, Rebecca McClary of Gordonsville and Dorothy McAlexander of Montford; and her grandchildren, Robert T. Wright, Jr. (Valerie) of Orange and Cheryl Phillips (Mark) of Richmond. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
