She was predeceased by: her parents, John Andrew (Andy) and Mattie Lee Hale McKnight; her husband Virgil Catron; and her siblings, Myrtle Moore, Mae Wolford, Agnes Bartlett, Troy McKnight, Tom McKnight and James McKnight.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary; her son-in-law Wayne Woolard of Hampton, Virginia; her grandson Andy Newman (Lisa) of Yorktown, Virginia; and her great grandchildren, Sydney Newman of Yorktown, Sarah Newman of Yorktown and David Newman of Yorktown.
As Mrs. Catron was a long time resident of Galax and member of the Galax First Baptist Church, the family request contributions be made to the following in lieu of flowers: Police Fitness, 189 Willow Bend Drive, Galax, VA 24333 or the First Baptist Church, 1024 East Stuart Drive, Galax, VA 24333.
