She was predeceased by : her parents, Curtis Pearson and Isabel Pearson. She is survived by : her son Dwight D. Sawyers; her stepdaughters, Kamisha and Brandy; her siblings, Curtarene D. Pearson, Frieda P. Smith and Devon Pearson (Kaori); her aunt Nancy Rhodes; her cousins, Adrienne, Kelly, Rhonda and Linda Redmond; and her friend Christine Armstrong. She is also survived by two brother and sister-in-laws, several nephews, nieces, great nieces.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mercy Seat Baptist Church (1013 Todds Ln, Hampton, VA 23666). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
