Hardy; her great-grandparent Merrit Bains Poole; her grandmother Artis Poole; her brother Stafford; her husband Morris Newby of Hampton, Virginia; her godmother Sara Jean Walden of Holland, Virginia; her stepdaughter Christal Newby of Newport News, Virginia; her children, Stacey Jones of Petersburg, Deontae Jefferson of Newport News and Craig Evans; her siblings, Jacqueline Hardy-Ricks of Surry, Makeeta Keys (Jeremy) of Prosper, Texas and Bradford Hardy of Surry, Virginia; her siblings-in-law, Jenette Askia of Bowie, Denise Tynes (Adrian) of Smithfield, Sandra Lundy of Newport News, Lee Newby (Betty) of Surry and Douglas Newby (Beverly) of Smithfield, Virginia; her aunts, Gladys Hardy of Smithfield, Eloise Hardy of Brooklyn and Shirley Hardy of Surry, Virginia; her uncle Earnest Poole (Florine) of Surry, Virginia; her stepgrandchildren, Aleisha and Christopher; her siblings' children, Kiana Hardy (Marcus), Kennedy Keys, Rashad Jones, Jovon Ricks (Mariah) and Jaxon Keys; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kyla, Kamdon, Graisyn and Maverick; her godchildren, Jordan Hardy, Jamie Borden and Kenyze Leggon; her siblings, Shonda Poole, Alesha Bailey and Xavier Bailey; and her caregiver Marlenia Pulley. She was also cherished by numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Rev. James Harrison and Main Street Baptist Church wanted to thank her for being one of two funeral homes that served many families during COVID-19 in the Surry and Smithfield areas.
