He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dillon Prendergast and Audrey McClary Prendergast; his significant other Beryl Lynch Prendergast; his children, Lynn Ferris of Florida, Ashley Wallbank (Teresa) of Portsmouth and Shawn Prendergast (Kristin) of Milan; his grandchildren, Jennifer Bryant (Josh) of Florida, Jason Wallbank (Sarah) of Las Vegas, Jeff Ferris of Florida, Jonathan Ferris (Leah) of Kansas City, Jessica Chapman (Alex) of Gravios Mills, Jarrett Wallbank of Las Vegas and Norah Prendergast of Milan; and his great grandchildren, Will, Jeffrey, Evie, Ben, Peyton, Tyson, Jonathan, Eleanor, Charlie, Nolan and Lila.

Over the years he quietly displayed his selflessness by paying for thousands of children's facial reconstructions through countless donations to Operation Smile every year in honor of his granddaughter. He also made many donations to the Shriner's Hospital in honor of two of his grandchildren.
