Robert Stephen Hurt Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Stephen Hurt of Hardy, Virginia, who passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Hurt and Francis Hurt. He is survived by: his wife Joy Hurt; his mother-in-law Nancy Wuergler; his siblings, Darlene McGuire (Glenn), Wesley Hurt and Mark Hurt (Bettie); his siblings-in-law, Barry Wuergler (Peggy) and Leticia Colls (Greg); his siblings' children, Travis McGuire (Shannon), Brian Hurt, Jason Hurt, Bryce Wuergler, Brandy Booth, Jessica Sanborn (Tyler) and Alli Summers (Luke); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael, Ambrose, Lincoln, Walker, Blake, Megan, Cora and Ella; and his close friends, Chris Cooper and Vickie Hodges.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Halesford Baptist Church (2485 Lost Mountain Rd, Wirtz, VA 24184). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
