She was predeceased by: her daughter Cathy Marie Merricks; her parent Cosby M. Shelton; her parent-in-law Georgie Daniel Shelton of Dry Fork, Virginia.; her former husband Walter Bell Merricks, Jr.; her husband James Turner of Henry County; and her sister Iris Nadeen Turner of Dry Fork, Virginia..
She is survived by: her daughter Jo Anne Owen (Claude) of Rustburg; her grandchildren, Brandon Owen of Rustburg and Byron Owen of Myrtle Beach; her brother Bobby Lee Shelton of Dry Fork; and her close friend John Lewis of Eden. She is also survived by many other cousins, nieces and nephews, and extended family.
