He is survived by: his sisters, Brenda Cox, Debbie Nance and Bonnie Woolwine; his nephew Timothy Woolwine; his wife Dorothy Tawney; his children, Alvin Major Tawney Jr., Brian Tawney (Kelly) and Melissa Turpin (Shawn); and his grandchildren, Austin, Emily, Matthew, Jake, Reece and Bella.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kendall Funeral Home (605 Snidow St, Pembroke, VA 24136). A memorial service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
