He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harvey and Nellie Mae Griggs Higgs; his brothers, Clarence Higgs of Pearisburg, Harvey Lee Higgs of Christiansburg and William Higgs of Pearisburg; and his grandchildren, Adalynn Grace Ann White and Colton Grey Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Higgs of Hillsville; and his children, Elizabeth Spicer (Randy) of Narrows, Chris Higgs (Wendy) of Dobson, NC and Billy Higgs (Kim) of Hillsville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
