He was predeceased by : his parents, Mildred Chapman Emerson and Alfred Clarence Emerson, Sr.; his wife Donita Fulton Emerson; his son Adam Emerson; and his sister-in-law Linda Emerson.

He is survived by : his siblings, Beverly E. Sims (Tom) of Virginia Beach, Ronald Emerson (Suzanne) of Ringgold and David Emerson (Carla) of Hurt.

In lieu of flowers, per Mr. Emersons request, he ask for everyone to listen to the Allman Brothers Band and love each other.
