He was predeceased by : his parents, Emil Kurtz and Rosie Kurtz; and his siblings, Edith Lovorn, Emil Kurtz, Elizabeth Kurtz and Michael Kurtz.
He is survived by : his wife Shirley Nelson Kurtz; his sisters-in-law, Betty Lukowski and Freda Schildroth; his siblings, Thomas Kurtz (Bernice), Patrick Kurtz (Carla), Leonard Kurtz (Leslie), Raymond Kurtz, Barbara Boehm (Jerry) and Katherine Foreman (Edward); and his close friend Jeanette Poole.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Angels of Assisi 415 Campbell AVE SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24016.
