He was predeceased by : his daughter Rebecca Cox Mathis of Independence. He is survived by : his son Ken; his son-in-law Scotty Mathis of Independence; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Courtney Ogle of North Wilkesboro, Cody, Cassi Mathis of Rhonda, Megan and Chase McCormick of Rhonda; his great grandchildren, Lillian McCormick and Raylan Mathis; and his close friends, Grey and Brian Busic.
