He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Hankins and Aileen Wright; and his siblings, Alfred Carter, Floyd Hankins and Effie Mae Racette.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Hankins; his children, James Slough (Kelly) of Jamaica, John Hankins, Jr. of Jamaica, Betty Damers of Chesterfield, Lisa Burnett of Jamaica, Julie Wilson (David) of Churchview, Ann Morgan (Shaun) of Remlik, Angela Roach (Billy) of Wingina and Linda Cable (Jimmy) of Jamaica; his brother Raymond Hankins of Jamaica; and his grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Cameron Lee, Landon, Preston, Logan, John Thomas, David, James, Christopher, Phillip, Heather, Sarah, Savon, Ashley, Jacob, Abbigayle, Steven, Tiffany, Cameron Shaun, Kendria and Trisha. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.
