He was predeceased by: his grandson Jesse H. Childers. He is survived by: his wife Joyce H. Carter; his daughters, Dawn C. Childers (Steve) and Amy C. Lacy; his grandchildren, Matthew Childers, Jackson Childers, Zach, Natalie, Lindsey and Sam Short; and his great grandchild Jacen Short.
