She was predeceased by: her father Joseph William; her husband John Malcolm Garrett; and her siblings, Juanita Himelright of Strasburg, Wilma Ryman of Maurertown, Alvin Conley Hamman of Woodstock and Lee Hamman of Strasburg.
She is survived by: her sisters, Genevieve H. Ragar (Richard) of Front Royal, VA and Lillie Zirkle of Woodstock, VA; and her siblings' children, Eugene Hamman (Barbara), Leo Ryman (Gloria), Frank Zirkle, Jr., Joyce A. French, Sandy McGeehan (Robert), Henry Himelright (Donna) and Karen Brown.
