It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Barnett Alexander (Lexington, Virginia), born in Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on January 31, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Gracie Allen Van Pelt and John Graham Barnett; her husband John A. "Jack" Alexander; and her siblings, Eleanor Mullins, Ruth Finke and Scott Barnett.
She is survived by : her children, Cathie Alexander (Jay Welborn) of Lexington, N. C., Nancy Simmons (Rex) of Fairfax Station, Graham Alexander (Anita) of Reston and Sally Minton (Stephen) of Statesboro. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
