She was predeceased by : her parents, Forrest Leon Magruder, Sr. and Mary Emma Lucile Magruder (Weaver); her uncle Preston Ricketts Weaver; her siblings-in-law, Robert Roy Newman, Jr. and Virginia Roberta Collins (Newman); and her nephew Stephen Banks.
She is survived by : her husband F. Douglas Newman; her daughter Mary Claire Espinosa; her son-in-law Mike Espinosa; her granddaughters, Karen Elizabeth Wood and Emily Cosgrove; her son Paul Douglas Newman; her daughter-in-law Bethany Winters; her grandsons, Forrest Wade Douglas Newman and Leonard "Leo" Paul Joseph Newman; her sister-in-law Annette Magruder (Marino); her nephews, Michael, Mark, John and Patrick Magruder; her sister-in-law Charlotte Katherine Banks (Newman); and her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Amy, Nancy, Beth, Julie, Sandra, Debbie, Patricia, Tracy, Virginia Ann Leake, Benny and Gary Collins. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She engaged in charitable work through the Daughters of the American Revolution, and worked for veterans through the Purple Heart Foundation and AMVETS National Service Foundation.
