He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Yates and Mary Yates. He is survived by: his children, Eric D. Yates and Karen Yates (Fab Fernandez); his grandchildren, Hanna Yates and Wyatt Yates Fulle; and his siblings, Warner Yates of Luray, Steve Yates (Kathleen) and Elizabeth Bond (Skip) of Fredericksburg.
