It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edgar Layne Jr. of Lynch Station, Virginia, born in Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Stevens (Scott) and Travis Layne (Mary); his grandchildren, Nicholas Overstreet (Kelsey), Morgan Lumpkin (Bradley), Seth Layne (Samantha), Gavin Stevens (Emily) and Kaylynn Layne; his great grandchild Kolsen Brantley; and his sister Theresa Layne Crouch (Ronnie).
