In loving memory of James Hughes Jr. (Lynchburg, Virginia), who departed this world on November 25, 2025 at the age of 90. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, James shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid James farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ryland Hughes Sr. and Doris Tucker Hughes; and his siblings, Janice Hughes Inman and Gerald Wayne Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Patti Mann Hughes; and his children, Vicky Hughes Simpson of Richmond, James Ryland Hughes III (Jean) and Tammy Hughes Brock of Tyler, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Jim's honor to a charity of your choice.
