She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas F. Gowen and Lola B. Gowen; her husband John E. Scruggs; her son Johnny E. Scruggs; her siblings, Barbara Hudson, T. F. Gowen Jr., Othello G. McAlister, Eleanor G. Martin and Phyllis G. Strickler; and her grandchildren, Jeanie Scruggs and Daniel Scruggs.
She is survived by: her children, Judy S. Wills and Jerry L. Scruggs (Donna); and her grandchildren, Stacy Powell (D. H.), Christy West (Jeff), Troy Scruggs (Amy), Jonathan Scruggs (April) and Lisa Hill (Joe). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
