He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Katherine Brown Melvin (Kate) and Tom Carter; his grandparents, Charles and Matilda Brown; his children, Nancy Jane Schmidt of Culpeper, VA and Thomas Allen Carter (Kathy) of Marshall; his grandchildren, Luke Schmidt (Missy), Joey Remondino (Janenne), Tim Schmidt, Jacob Carter and Erin Carter; and his great grandchildren, Kinsley Schmidt, Sofia Remonino, Marley Schmidt, Charleigh Schmidt and Angelina Remondino.
