He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parent Varnell Creel Payne, Sr.; his wife Anne Murray Payne; his children, Gregory Scott Payne, Jr. (Tammy) of Burke and Shannon Nicole Silvious (Matthew) of Florida; his mother Ruth Wilson Payne of Marshall; his grandchildren, Jordan Ashley Payne, Morgan Elizabeth Payne and William Matthew Silvious; and his siblings-in-law, Jean H. Payne of Culpeper and David Murray (Mary Ann) of North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to a Cancer Society or SPCA of your choosing.
