She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Carter, Sr. and Martha S. Martin; her brother Thomas Carter, Jr.; and her grandparents, John, Parlina Martin, Gentry and Mary Carter.
She is survived by: her sisters, Joyce Martin of Maryland, Evangelist Martha R. Martin of Martinsville, VA, Lorrie A. Carter of Martinsville, VA and Doretha C. Johnson (Avery) of Spencer, VA; her aunt Theresa "Chuckie" Hairston of Martinsville, VA; and her close friends, Chantay Hayden, Robin Scearce and Tony Nance. She is also survived by four nieces; four nephews; five great nieces; five great nephews.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hairston Funeral Home (301 Fayette St, Martinsville, VA 24112). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Cross Church (938 Brookdale St, Martinsville, VA 24112).
