He is survived by: his wife Mildred Ethelyne Akers Swinney; his children, Carolyn Carter (Mark), Robert Lee Swinney (April), Timothy Douglas Swinney (Debra) and Anthony Ray Swinney (April); and his siblings, Maxine Mays (Steve), Marshall Swinney (Wanda) and Samuel "Sam" Swinney (Karen). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
